All you need are basic ingredients (which you probably have at home) and 5 minutes. It’s super simple to make and very tasty. I often make avocado toast when I’m tired or extremely hungry. Since I always have fresh avocados and bread at home, it’s my go-to meal for long days.
Avocados are great because although they contain a high fat (the good fat though) content, they are highly nutritious. They are high in potassium, high in dietary fiber (which will keep you fuller longer), and are not even included in the glycemic index (good for diabetics). Still not convinced? Simple Avocado Toast
Quick & easy go-to avocado snack for the busy!
- 2 slices bread gluten-free or whole grain
- 1 small ripe avocado or 1/2 large ripe avocado
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Toast the bread.
Remove pulp from avocado and mash with a fork.
Add 1 tsp. of lime juice to avocado mash.
Spread avocado mash on bread evenly. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
